When people ask me where my journey began, they often expect a dramic answer.
the truth is, It began with a simple conversation. As a young woman, I wanted to enter a beauty pagent- not for crowns or reconition, but for the opportunity to earn scholarship money and invest in my future.
I remember being told there might be girls who were pretty or had more money-girls who could simply buy thier way to the top. Whether those words were intended to protect me or discourage me, they planted something deep inside me; defeat. i quietly began believing that I wasn't enough.
for years i avoided looking into mirrors for more than a quick glance. I stood at the back of the crowd, struggled to open up to others, and if i'm being honest, i struggled up to myself.
the people who loved me-my husband and my family- constantly me that I was beautiful and that i was enough. they believed in me, even when i couldn't believe in myself. but when a lie has lived in your heart long enough, encouragement can be difficult to recieve. their words reached my ears, but they hadn't taken root in my heart yet.
years later i asked myself a question that changed everything:
why was i placed on this earth?
as i looked around, i saw self-doubt, anxiety, discouragement, and people quietly losing the spark in thier eyes- the same spark you see so naturally in the eyes of a child, who believe anything is possible and never question their worth.
and suddenly i realized...i had lost that spark too.
that realization became an invitation-not to change my appearance, but to begin healing myself. i started taking an honest look at my heart. i questioned the beliefs, i had carried for years and slowly replaced self-criticism with grace, comparison with gratitude, and fear with hope.
healing didn't happen overnight. it happend one choice, one prayer, one conversation, and one step at a time.
today my greatest disire is not for people to see me. it is for people to see themselves differently and see their worth goes beyond what the reflection shows. that is why beyond the mirror was exists.
the mirror reflects your appearence. it can never reflect your worth.
my hope is that together we can reignite the spark within ourselves so the world has the privlege of seeing who we truly are- not through the reflection in a mirror, but through lives filled with hope, kindness, courage, and purpose.
Remember your spark has always been there.
